Viejísimo brandy de color topacio oscuro, con nobles reflejos oro viejo. De aroma intenso, exhibe un vivo bouquet con cálidas notas de especias (canela, vainilla). Al paladar es graso y rico en taninos, evolucionando hacia un final de boca ampuloso y persistente, en el que se manifiestan los matices aromáticos del roble.

El apellido Torres no es nuevo en el mundo del vino, de hecho la familia lleva lleva más de tres siglos en la prestigiosa región del Penedès, una de las principales denominaciones de origen de España. Esta DO, en la que se cultiva vino desde la época de los fenicios, fue la elegida en 1870 por Jaime y Miguel Torres Vendrell para formar con su padre Torres y Cia y comenzar la construcción de la primera bodega en Villafranca del Penedés. Con el tiempo la bodega se fue expandiendo desde su origen a lo largo y ancho del mundo. Con más de cinco generaciones que han estado a cargo a lo largo de la historia de la bodega y presencia en más de 150 países. A la tenacidad y espíritu de riesgo de Miguel Torres Carbó se debe la expansión de Torres en el mundo. Siempre recordó sus comienzos, con sus botellas en la mano vendiéndolas a los mejores restaurantes y comercios de la época. Son muchos los pasos dados a lo largo de nuestra historia para consolidar un apellido: Torres. Gestionada por la quinta generación, tiene una plantilla de más de 1.300 colaboradores y con una inversión en I+D+i de tres millones de euros.
Tradición e innovación.
Desde sus orígenes como bodegueros en 1870, la Familia Torres ha aunado tradición e innovación en la elaboración de vinos y brandis de prestigio, trabajando siempre con el máximo respeto hacia el medio ambiente. Vinculada a la tierra desde hace más de tres siglos – las primeras referencias como viticultores se remontan al 1678 -, ha contado históricamente con bodegas y viñedos en el Penedès, de donde es originaria, Conca de Barberà, Priorat y Costers del Segre. Cada generación ha contribuido al desarrollo del negocio y ha transmitido a la siguiente la pasión por la cultura del vino y la importancia de cuidar la tierra y buscar la excelencia. La cuarta generación, con Miguel A. Torres, introdujo el cultivo de la cabernet sauvignon en España, creando 'Mas la Plana' en 1970, mientras que la quinta generación se centra hoy en la elaboración de vinos procedentes de viñedos singulares y fincas con historia y en la recuperación de variedades ancestrales catalanas, y también de otras regiones españolas y chilenas. Un proyecto que permite recuperar el patrimonio vitícola y que puede convertirse en una solución de futuro frente al cambio climático por la capacidad de estas variedades de resistir las altas temperaturas y la sequía. Además, Familia Torres contribuye a minimizar las consecuencias reduciendo sus emisiones de CO2 , desde el viñedo hasta el transporte final, gracias al uso de energías renovables, vehículos sostenibles, medidas de eficiencia energética, etc.
Presencia internaciónal.
Familia Torres está también presente con viñedos propios y bodegas en las principales zonas vinícolas españolas –Rioja, Ribera del Duero, Rueda y Rías Baixas-, así como en Chile y California. Es miembro de las Primum Familiae Vini, una asociación que integra doce de las familias centenarias elaboradoras de vino más prestigiosas de Europa. Familia Torres posee 1.800 hectáreas de viñedos en Catalunya, de las cuales 850 están certificadas como ecológicas por el CCPAE. Desde sus 3 centros, Cataluña, Chile y California se ha gestado esta labor:
Cataluña: En Vilafranca del Penedès se encuentra el origen de Torres en el mundo.
California: En las colinas del condado de Sonoma comienza la aventura norteamericana de Marimar Torres.
Chile: Al pie de los volcanes andinos, en el Valle Central de Chile se encuentra las bodegas de Torres.
Su fama.
Familia Torres es considerada la ‘Marca de vinos más admirada del mundo’ por los profesionales del sector, según la publicación de Drinks International en su último número. La bodega familiar del Penedès ocupa la primera posición del ranking por segundo año consecutivo y sigue siendo la única bodega española y europea que ha conseguido liderar esta lista de 50 bodegas en sus siete ediciones.
