Historia.

Fundada por Adriano Ramos Pinto en 1880, Casa Ramos Pinto rápidamente se hizo notar, en su momento, por la estrategia innovadora y emprendedora. Origen.

La Touriga Franca es una variedad de uva tinta que tiene una gran importancia en la elaboración de vinos tintos secos de Oporto en la región vitivinícola del Douro (Portugal). Es una de las principales variedades utilizadas en las mezclas de Oporto, junto con otras variedades de Douro bien consideradas, como Tinta Roriz y Touriga Nacional. Está muy extendida en el Alentejo, el Tejo, las Beiras y las áreas vitivinícolas de los alrededores de Lisboa. A pesar de su fuerza como uva para mezclar, y mejorar caldos de otras variedades, también podría ser utilizada para elaborar vinos monovarietales, aunque esta opción no es demasiado utilizada por los productores, ni siquiera en su Portugal natal.

Origen.

La tinta barroca es una uva tinta portuguesa que crece sobre todo en la región del Duero portugués (Douro). Hay algunas plantaciones en Sudáfrica. En Portugal, es una uva habitual en vinos multivarietales de Oporto, mientras que en Sudáfrica suele usarse para hacer monovarietales. La viña de tinta barroca fue introducida en la región del Duero a finales del siglo XIX, y tiene la ventaja de resistir los climas fríos de las laderas orientadas hacia el norte. También se cultiva en Sudáfrica, donde se elaboran vinos de alta calidad.




Características.

Es una uva de piel fina de color muy oscura, con taninos moderados.
