Territorio y sus denominaciones.

El territorio de Barolo y sus regulaciones de producción se establecieron con DOC, Denominación de Origen Controlada para los vinos de Barolo, en 1966 y se le otorgó el estatus de DOCG en 1980 e incluye 11 municipios: Barolo, Monforte d'Alba, Castiglione Falletto, Serralunga d'Alba, La Morra, Grinzane Cavour, Diano d'Alba, Novello, Verduno, Cherasco y Roddi. En 1994 la familia Antinori se hizo con Prunotto, una de las bodegas históricas del Piamonte. Equidistante entre Barbaresco y Barolo, la bodega se ubica en Alba, uno de los pueblos más destacados de la región del Langhe.




Historia del Piamonte.

En el año 1904, se funda la bodega cooperativa “Ai vini delle Langhe”, siendo testigo un chico joven llamado Alfred Prunotto. Este será un momento histórico ya que inicia la trayectoria de una de las bodegas más longevas del Piamonte. La primera vendimia tuvo lugar en el año 1905 pero en posteriores años y a raíz de la Primera Guerra Mundial, la cooperativa vivió momentos muy difíciles. De hecho en 1922, muchos de sus miembros decidieron no aportar uvas y la cooperativa fue finalmente liquidada. Durante ese periodo de crisis, Alfredo Prunotto decide casarse y tomar el control de la cooperativa. Gracias a la perseverancia de la pareja de recién casada, la bodega comenzó a cosechar éxitos. Sus vinos viajaban principalmente a Sudamérica y Estados Unidos. Fueron de hecho unos adelantados para su época, apostando claramente por el Nuevo Mundo como principal mercado.




La retirada de Prunotto.

En 1956 Alfredo Prunotto se retira del negocio, entregan la bodega a su amigo y experto en vino Beppe Colla. A partir de 1961 en Prunotto se ponen a la tarea de identificar zonas y parcelas específicas para el cultivo de uvas de calidad suprema. Parcelas muy concretas que acabarían posicionándose como Crus, como por ejemplo Barolo Bussia and Barbera d'Alba Pian Romualdo. En 1989 la familia del Marqués de Antinori comienza su colaboración con Prunotto, primero encargándose de la distribución de sus vinos y posteriormente en 1994, involucrándose directamente en el proceso de elaboración y manteniendo el gran nivel de calidad en el que Alfredo Prunotto siempre había insistido.

Descripción.

D.O.C.G. Moscato d'Asti es la denominación de origen que distingue al famoso moscato del Piamonte, uno de los vinos más apreciados en Italia. Aunque la cuna de esta zona de producción es la ciudad de Asti, ésta abarca además cerca de 50 municipios de las provincias de Cuneo, Asti y Alessandria, sumando 9.700 hectáreas de viñedo de la variedad moscato, también conocida como moscatel de grano menudo. El moscato d’Asti nacido de esas uvas es un blanco dulce, de bajo grado alcohólico, notable frescura y elegantes aromas florales y de fruta de hueso, que suele ser el acompañante perfecto para todo tipo de postres. Dentro de la misma D.O.C.G. también figura el Asti spumante, un espumoso dulce, que con el prosecco y el lambrusco, es el vino elaborado en Italia más exportado. El Moscato d’Asti se caracteriza por su denominación de origen controlada garantizada, de ahí que su etiqueta lleve las siglas D.O.C.G., que es garante del rigor de los métodos de producción y de la alta calidad de la uva Moscato Bianco que se usa en su elaboración. Esta uva se ha venido cosechando en el Piemonte por cientos de años, donde los viñedos cubren un área de 9.700 hectáreas en los montes a lo largo del río Tanaro. Estos montes de formas alargadas o redondeadas han sido declarados por la UNESCO como Herencia para la Humanidad. En estos cerros hay 52 comunidades donde se elabora el Moscato d’Asti usando solo las mejores uvas. Estas comunidades están localizadas en las provincias de Asti, Alessandria, y Cuneo. Durante los primeros días de septiembre, la Moscato Bianco produce particulares aromas que anuncia el principio de la época de vendimia. Estas uvas son recogidas, en su mayoría, a mano.




Los municipios del Moscato d´Asti.

Colinas a las que el hombre ha tenido que adaptarse, respetando su alma profunda para obtener sus preciosos frutos a cambio. Los territorios de los que provienen las uvas moscatel blanco, destinadas a producir el ASTI Docg y el MOSCATO d'ASTI Docg, son paisajes con características únicas, capaces de permanecer grabadas en la memoria del espectador. El área fue demarcada en 1932 e incluye 52 municipios ubicados en los territorios de las provincias de Alessandria, Asti y Cuneo. El área total del viñedo de moscatel blanco es de aproximadamente 9700 hectáreas, y más de 4000 empresas están involucradas en la producción. Lo que hace que estos lugares sean tan fascinantes es la variedad que los caracteriza: Las colinas de Langhe tienen una forma alargada y crestas largas y ligeramente empinadas. El Docg MOSCATO d'ASTI es el Moscato más famoso de nuestro país y uno de los productos más característicos de la viticultura piamontesa. Al igual que ASTI Dolce Docg, es el portador de una historia completamente italiana, hecha de gestos impecables, respeto por la tradición y mejoras constantes. Conocer el MOSCATO d'ASTI en todas sus notas significa no dejarlo nunca más. Conviértalo en un compañero para los momentos más especiales pero no solo. Para los agricultores que trabajaban la tierra, por ejemplo, era el mejor vino para combinar con una merienda salada genuina. Dulce, pero no empalagoso, tiene un aroma inimitable, un sabor delicado e intenso, que recuerda a las glicinias y tilos, duraznos y albaricoques con toques de salvia, limón y azahar. Un verdadero vino tradicional que, con el tiempo, ha alcanzado niveles de calidad extraordinarios también gracias a la difusión de la tecnología moderna. En particular, el vinculado a la cadena de frío, que permitió mantener los aromas y sabores de las uvas en el vino y estabilizar el producto, permitiendo su conservación y transporte. Este vino tiene un componente aromático intenso en armonía con ese azúcar y un bajo contenido de alcohol que lo hace único. En un nivel de producción, difiere de Asti docg sobre todo para la fermentación, que se detiene cuando se alcanza el contenido de alcohol de aproximadamente 5% vol. Además, Moscato d'Asti, aunque no es un vino espumoso, mantiene una vivacidad que lo hace inconfundible. El MOSCATO d'ASTI Docg está sujeto a los mismos controles que los de Asti Spumante. Con el documento, el Consorcio también estableció el Consejo del MOSCATO d'ASTI Docg para proteger el producto de las imitaciones, aumentar su nivel de calidad y mejorar su imagen.
