Situado en el corazón de las Highlands, Glenfiddich ("Valle del Venado" que significa en gaélico) es un lugar de impresionante belleza. Los colores vibrantes, salidos de la paleta de un artista, llenan las colinas y los bosques, mientras que las ruinas del inquietante castillo y un manantial natural añaden el toque romántico. Glenfiddich ha cambiado muy poco desde 1886, cuando William Grant y sus nueve hijos se arremangaron y construyeron la destilería con sus propias manos. En estos almacenes reina el mismo silencio y sus húmedos sótanos producen el whisky escocés de malta favorito en el mundo en la actualidad.
El sueño.
Durante 20 años, William Grant tuvo el sueño de hacer la "mejor copita del valle". Con la ayuda de su familia, finalmente logró esa visión. En el verano de 1886, con sus siete hijos y dos hijas a su lado, William se propuso cumplir una ambición de toda la vida. Juntos comenzaron a construir su Destilería a mano, piedra por piedra. Después de un solo año de trabajo, estaba listo y William lo llamó Glenfiddich, gaélico para Valley of the Deer. La pasión, determinación y espíritu pionero de William continúa guiándonos hoy. Glenfiddich es una de las pocas destilerías de malta individuales que sigue siendo propiedad de una familia y ahora es el whisky escocés de malta * más premiado del mundo, un verdadero reflejo de la naturaleza innovadora de nuestro fundador, transmitido de generación en generación.
