El lento proceso permite al destilador seleccionar con precisión el corazón de la ginebra, eliminando cabezas y rabos. Además, el Charentais (tipo de alambique), con cuello en forma de cisne, afavorece la concentración de aceites esenciales, que contribuyen al refinamiento de la ginebra y le aportan complejidad aromática. Citadelle es la única ginebra del mercado que aún utiliza este método de destilación tan antiguo y que la hace tan exclusiva. Esta técnica produce un alcohol con una estructura muy fina que soporta la razonable adición de enebro y otros botánicos. El maestro destilador selecciona los botánicos que complementaran el frescor de la ginebra con aromas agridulces, florales y exóticos. Con gran destreza son capaces de llegar a un equilibrio aromático perfecto. Un amplio rango de aromas y sabores son el sello diferencial de esta excepcional ginebra.
