La destilería propiedad de la familia Berta en Casalotto di Mombaruzzo abrió en la vendimia de 2002, una cosecha histórica para esta familia Y para el desarrollo económico del sector del vino en Asti. Otras fechas importantes para la empresa son:
- 1930. Apertura de una farmacia Berta en Milán.
- Julio de 1866. Nacimiento de Francesco Berta: En el momento en que nació este niño, Italia era un país conocido por sus numerosos viñedos, pero el mundo era completamente diferente al de hoy. Como en todas las familias campesinas, Francesco Berta trabajó desde niño en los viñedos y bodegas, y desde una corta edad, siempre en busca de oportunidades para vender su vino y encontrar nuevos clientes. Apenas cumplió la mayoría de edad, a los 22 años, Francesco se casó con Erminia Barbero. De este matrimonio nacerían dos hijos, siendo el mayor, Giovanni, el que seguiría con el trabajo familiar, y su hermano, Michele, comenzaría la carrera de farmacia.
- 1930. Apertura de una farmacia Berta en Milán por parte de Michele.
- 1947. Construcción de la primera destilería en Nizza Monferrato.
La colaboración de los dos hermanos.
La producción artesanal de licor era común por sus beneficios terapéuticos. Sin embargo, los dos hermanos trabajaron juntos en diferentes ciudades, y Giovanni, quien se casó con Paolina Boido a los 24 años, suministró a Michele vinos base para algunos de los productos que creó: La china Barberavino tinto y el elixir de vino de pasas Moscato , proporcionado en botellas, pero también en vasos en la farmacia. Al mismo tiempo, por supuesto, los clientes de Michele se convirtieron en compradores asiduos de los vinos tradicionales de Giovanni. Paolo, el menor de cinco hijos, iba a heredar el negocio, y con grandes sacrificios pudo continuar sus estudios; Mientras se desataba la Segunda Guerra Mundial, se graduó como enólogo en Alba en 1947. Continuó el negocio y lo amplió, abriendo una destilería en Nizza Monferrato, en Via San Nicolao, un sitio histórico donde hoy se encuentra una instalación de envejecimiento de licores. La compañía Berta nunca podría haber tenido una historia así, si no hubiera sido construida sólidamente, basada en la unidad familiar, en la integración y el cambio progresivo a las siguientes generaciones, así como la contribución de las mujeres de la familia. Aunque los hombres llevan el nombre de la familia, de acuerdo con la tradición rural de la familia, las esposas siempre han desempeñado un papel clave, como es habitual en el campo, dirigiendo el hogar y permitiendo que sus hombres se encarguen del negocio.

Es bueno, no es acido. Los malos al tomarlos se notan en el estómago. Este se toma bien. No tengo problemas me adapto a los buenos Grappa. Vengan de donde vengan.
