Español [ ES ]El proceso de elaboración de este producto parte de los hollejos no fermentados y despalillados de la uva blanca picapoll. El orujo obtenido es rico en aromas y concentración debido a su respeto durante el proceso de prensado. Este orujo se deja fermentar durante aproximadamente un mes y medio en recipientes de 500 Kg. La pasta obtenida pasa por una columna de destilación nombrada desalcoholador, por donde circula vapor a baja presión a través del orujo fermentado por arrastrar el alcohol sin dañar su potencial aromático. De este proceso se obtienen las flemas que contienen entre unos 25-30% vol. de alcohol. Una segunda destilación en un alambique al baño maria consigue afinar el destilado, rechazando las cabezas y las colas.

Abadal es la bodega más representativa y más importante de la D.O. Pla de Bages, además de ser responsable de lanzar a esta pequeña denominación catalana. Fundada en 1983 por Valentín Roqueta, Abadal recoge siglos de tradición viticultura y elaboradora de la familia Roqueta. Cuenta con unas modernas instalaciones que se sitúan en medio de un bosque de pinos, en un entorno de gran belleza, en las proximidades de la masía familiar Roqueta, con más de 9 siglos de historia y con larga tradición en el cultivo de la vid. Abadal se caracteriza por ser una bodega muy influenciada por la vitivinicultura francesa, de hecho, es sus viñedos destaca la presencia de variedades de uva galas, como la merlot y la cabernet franc.
