La denominación Marche IGT representa una de las áreas vitivinícolas más importantes de la región de Marche. La denominación Marche IGT incluye las provincias de Ancona, Macerata, Fermo y fue creada en 1995. Los vinos de la denominación Marche IGT se basan principalmente en vides como el Alicante, Barbera, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Ciliegiolo, Fiano, Gaglioppo, Grechetto, Malvasia bianca di Candia , Merlot , Moscato bianco, Passerina, Pinot bianco, Pinot grigio, Pinot nero, Rebo, Riesling Italico, Sangiovese, Sauvignon, Syrah, Trebbiano Toscano. El área de producción de vino IGT Marche se encuentra en Marche región e incluye todo el territorio regional.
Historia.
A partir del siglo X a.C., hay ciertos rastros de viticultura y vinificación en el área de Rosso Piceno DOC, importados por los colonos griegos a quienes se debe la fundación de la ciudad de Ancona. En el mismo período, la acción de los etruscos también fue muy importante para la transmisión de las primeras nociones técnicas del cultivo de la vid y de las técnicas enológicas, que se extendieron, dada la proximidad, en la región de Marche donde se instalaron los Piceni. Que el Piceni, entre los siglos VIII y VII a. C. conocía las uvas y el vino, es atestiguado por el reciente descubrimiento en el centro de Matelica de la tumba de un joven príncipe con una cuenca hemisférica en el interior con 200 semillas de uva de Vitis Vinifera. Entre los siglos VI y XIII, la presencia de abadías y monjes en las Marcas estaba bastante extendida, y para las necesidades litúrgicas, así como para la cantina, en las tierras de propiedad eclesiástica siempre existía la presencia de un pequeño viñedo. Los monjes en las Marcas fueron responsables de la transmisión de técnicas vitícolas y enológicas. En la era de los municipios, las condiciones socio-económicas de la población mejoraron, y la vid también asumió un cierto papel en la economía rural y en la sociedad, también porque el vino dejó de ser una bebida litúrgica y una prerrogativa solo para el clero, pero entra en el hábitos de una comunidad más grande de personas. En los años de transición de los Estados Pontificios al Reino de Italia, Oidium, Downy mildew y Phylloxera llegaron a las Marcas, lo que complicó la situación en el sector del vino. Tuvieron que pasar unos cuarenta años antes de encontrar soluciones para tratar estas enfermedades. En esos años, nacieron las cátedras itinerantes de agricultura que hicieron una contribución significativa a la renovación y modernización de la viticultura y la enología de las Marcas. Después de la Primera Guerra Mundial, con el nacimiento de los nuevos movimientos sociales, se formaron las primeras ligas campesinas y los propietarios se comprometieron a mejorar la productividad de los fondos, con una introducción lenta de nuevas tecnologías que aumentaron los ingresos de las familias campesinas, los primeros tractores, el uso de fertilizantes minerales, etc. Los primeros éxitos reaccionaron con la fragmentación de las granjas y con la reducción de las superficies de las mismas, en las que toda la familia campesina trabajó desde niños hasta madres fértiles. Con el fin de la aparcería, en Piceno aparecieron nuevas figuras de propietarios que fusionaron más granjas y dieron vida a empresas de gestión directa. A principios de los años 90 comenzó una profunda reestructuración de los viñedos, se plantaron viñedos técnicamente adecuados para plantar y se introdujeron numerosas variedades tanto de la antigua Marche como del cultivo internacional.
