Los aromas son de fruta dulce, de fruta fresca madura, de frutas blancas con hueso (melocotón), acompañado de notas florales, notas minerales muy refrescantes; es vino vibrante, con un fondo yodado. Planeta es quizá la mejor bodega de Sicilia y una de las firmas familiares más famosas del mundo. La casa familiar de los Planeta y la bodega principal se encuentra en Dispensa, en el noroeste de la isla. Allí se elabora su marca La Segretta y los vinos top a base de Merlot, Syrah y Burdese. Terre Siciliane es el título IGT regional para Sicilia y sus islas satélite, incluidas las Islas Aelian.
