Bodegas Arrayán surge en 1999 como el proyecto personal de José María Entrecanales y María Marsans en su finca “La Verdosa”, en Santa Cruz del Retamar, Toledo. Para ello, Richard Smart, experto australiano en viñedos, realizó un exhaustivo estudio del relieve, el suelo, el clima, las exposiciones y orientaciones más favorables y las variedades que más se adecuaban al objeto buscado. Comenzó así, en la zona más alta de la finca, la plantación de las variedades Syrah, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon y Petit Verdot, respetando en su integridad el bosque autóctono de encinas que rodea y salpica el viñedo. La llegada de la enóloga Maite Sánchez en 2009 marca una nueva etapa en Arrayán tanto en la elaboración de los vinos ya existentes como en el empeño de incorporar variedades autóctonas a su gama de vinos. Su objetivo prioritario desde ese momento ha sido lograr que la viña manifieste con rotundidad la expresión de cada terruño. Para ello, se practica una viticultura respetuosa con el medio ambiente, sin utilizar herbicidas ni insecticidas, favoreciendo la biodiversidad y el equilibrio.
Filosofía.
En el lagar se sigue esta misma filosofía y se realizan fermentaciones espontáneas con las levaduras propias de la uva, sin adición de productos enológicos, con el fin de obtener la máxima pureza y personalidad. La crianza es un aspecto fundamental que se realiza en las barricas adecuadas para priorizar la expresión de la fruta, trabajando con distintas tonelerías y volúmenes de barricas. Las uvas de cada viña se elaboran por separado para dar a conocer la personalidad de las distintas fincas y pueblos. El resultado son vinos de la Finca ‘La Verdosa’ y los vinos de los pueblos en los que trabajamos: Almorox, donde se sitúan los viñedos de Arrayán Albillo Real; El Real de San Vicente, donde obtenemos La Suerte de Arrayán y Cebreros, viñedo de la Garnacha de Arrayán.
Proyecto.
El mapa vitícola español posee un rico patrimonio genético. Sin embargo, el cultivo se centra sólo en algunas variedades, poniendo en riesgo la conservación de esta diversidad. Con el objetivo de investigar la potencialidad de algunas variedades que ahora pueden considerarse minoritarias pero que en su momento se cultivaban en nuestras tierras, se han injertado en la finca 8 variedades autóctonas minoritarias, localizadas con ayuda del IVICAM (Centro de Investigación de la Vid y el Vino de Castilla-La Mancha):
- Garnacha peluda.
- Garnacha gris.
- Garnacha blanca.
- Mizancho.
- Rufete.
- Bruñal.
- Moravia agria.
- Graciano.
Los injertos fueron realizados en 2014 y 2015. El número de cepas injertadas darán lugar a una barrica de un vino experimental por variedad. En los años próximos se estudiará la capacidad de adaptación de estas variedades al terreno y la calidad del vino que ofrezcan las mismas.
I+D.
Eldía 1 de julio del 2017 Bodegas Arrayan dió comienzo a un Proyecto de I+D individual con título “ESTUDIO DEL POTENCIAL ENOLÓGICO DE VARIEDADES DE VID MINORITARIAS EN LA DENOMINACIÓN DE ORIGEN MÉNTRIDA” y acrónimo PEVIMEN, que tiene por objetivo principal la obtención de nuevos vinos tintos y blancos, a partir del estudio agronómico y potencial enológico de variedades minoritarias y desconocidas de vid, que sean adecuadas para la producción en la región de la Denominación de Origen Méntrida en condiciones de sostenibilidad y cultivo ecológico, permitiendo reducir los efectos negativos asociados a los climas cálidos. El Proyecto PEVIMEN, ha sido apoyado por el CDTI, mediante una ayuda parcialmente reembolsable cofinanciada por el Fondo Europeo de Desarrollo Regional (FEDER) a través del programa operativo pluriregional de crecimiento inteligente. El Proyecto, que tiene una duración prevista de 36 meses abarcando tres campaña vitivinícolas, se desarrollará en 1 ha de viñedo experimental enclavada en los viñedos propios de la bodega, y cuenta con el apoyo a nivel científico del Grupo de Investigación en Viticultura de la Universidad Politécnica de Madrid, además de otros colaboradores técnicos.

Muy aclamado por la crítica, pero peor que cosechas anteriores.
Lo había probado antes, pero… en mi humilde opinión, tiene un poco menos de fruta, es menos vibrante y exuberante. Dicho esto, sigue siendo excelente.
Lo importante es el contenido. Un excelente Vino Blanco a un precio muy razonable. Super Recomendable
No es de lo mejor, pero está bien.
En mi opinión, no merece un precio tan alto, pero intenta hacer tu propia opinión. Olvidando la comparación con otros, esta es una compra excelente.
