Historia.

El cultivo de vides en el territorio de la actual región de Friuli Venezia Giulia ha sido el protagonista indiscutible desde la antigüedad. La historia de la vinificación de Friuli-Venezia Giulia ha sido fuertemente influenciada por la historia de esta zona, que fue parada importante a lo largo de la ruta de las especias mediterráneas, desde el Imperio Bizantino hasta el centro comercial de Venecia. Clima y geografía.

Los nombres de viñedos y fincas vitivinícolas de Friuli a menudo incluyen la palabra ronco (ronchi plural), que es la palabra friuliana para una ladera en terrazas.
